How Do Vehicles Qualify for the IIHS Top Safety Pick Award?

To qualify for the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK award, Hyundai vehicles must meet a specific set of crashworthiness and crash-avoidance criteria. They must maintain a “good” rating in the small-overlap front, moderate-overlap front, and side crash tests. Eligible models must also have “good” or “acceptable” headlights and pedestrian front-crash prevention across all trims. To receive the TOP SAFETY PICK + Award, eligible Hyundai vehicles must meet the following additional criteria:

• “Acceptable” or “good” vehicle-to-vehicle front-crash prevention
• “Good” pedestrian front-crash prevention
