Service advisor

Owning a Hyundai vehicle requires taking care of it, and Rob Green Hyundai invites owners to bring their cars and SUVs to our service center for routine maintenance. We can help you keep your vehicle running in top shape for worry-free drives.

Hyundai Service & Repairs

At some point in our ownership, your Hyundai car or SUV will require repairs. Expected wear and tear or unforeseen mishaps might necessitate bringing a vehicle to our Pocatello area service center. If you notice a problem or see the check engine light illuminated, we recommend bringing your car to our service center for an inspection.

A road test or multipoint inspection may uncover issues that require attention. We will bring the inspection results to you and agree upon an action plan to get your vehicle back on the roads of Twin Falls in no time.

Fixing an issue as soon as it’s discovered may be less costly than waiting. Unresolved issues could cause more damage and rack up the expenses quickly. Driving a vehicle with certain issues could also be dangerous.

Routine Service

As with all vehicles, your Hyundai requires routine service and scheduled maintenance. The necessary work will appear in the owner’s manual, and owners should check to see if anything is coming or past due.

An oil and filter change is a fundamental service for gas-powered vehicles, and these appointments allow for booking other services that could be due. Tire rotations, wheel alignments, brake inspections, and coolant changes are among those services.

You should also keep track of the last time you replaced your windshield wipers, had your battery checked, and changed your transmission fluid. Staying on top of routine service helps keep a vehicle running efficiently and keeps you safe on the roads of Pocatello.

Schedule Your Hyundai Service Appointment

You can save time by booking your next service online. If you would like to speak with a service advisor about your Hyundai model, call our service department during regular business hours.

2024 Tucson

The Hyundai Elantra and Hyundai Tucson have evolved into some of the most appealing vehicles in their respective classes. They boast roomy and refined accommodations, excellent amenities, easy drivability, and eye-catching style. They also deliver top-tier driving confidence, thanks to their advanced engineering and cutting-edge safety technologies. The two vehicles demonstrated this last month by earning Top Safety Pick+ awards, the highest possible designation from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). The achievement is particularly notable, as the organization recently updated its crashworthiness evaluations to be even more rigorous.

What is a Top Safety Pick Rating?

To qualify for a Top Safety Pick designation, a vehicle must earn the highest possible score of “Good” in driver and passenger small overlap front, moderate overlap front, and a new, more energetic side crash test. It must also offer available “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights and “Advanced” or “Superior” ratings for forward collision mitigation technology. Front crash prevention system tests include daytime and nighttime evaluations of vehicle-to-vehicle and vehicle-to-passenger performance. A Top Safety Pick+ (plus) rating is reserved for vehicles that have “Good” or “Acceptable” headlights as standard equipment.

The Hyundai Elantra earned “Superior” daytime and nighttime pedestrian tests, while the Tucson earned a Superior daytime rating and an “Advanced” nighttime rating.

“This is great news for our recently refreshed Elantra sedan and Tucson compact SUV, two of our highest-volume models,” said Brian Latouf, Hyundai Motor Company’s global chief safety officer. “We made it a priority to improve our vehicles’ safety engineering to meet the more stringent Top Safety Pick+ testing requirements recently instituted by IIHS.”

The 2024 Tucson and Elantra bring Hyundai’s Top Safety Pick+ awards to five under the stricter testing standards, joining the 2023 Palisade, 2023 IONIQ 6, and 2024 IONIQ 5.

Hyundai Elantra Standard Safety Features

While there’s no substitute for attentive driving, advanced driver assistance features can help provide more confidence and convenience behind the wheel. The 2024 Hyundai Elantra and 2024 Hyundai Tucson offer a comprehensive roster of SmartSense technologies that continually monitor the vehicle’s surroundings and help the driver better detect and respond to potential hazards. Both models come standard with driver aids like:Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist with Pedestrian DetectionLane Keeping and Lane Following AssistBlind-Spot Collision WarningRear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance AssistDriver Attention WarningSafe Exit WarningIntelligent Speed Limit AssistHigh Beam Assist

The 2024 Hyundai Elantra received a midcycle refresh with a more aggressive exterior design and an upgrade features list. Several technologies have been made available for the first time in the Elantra lineup, including Surround View Monitor (360-degree camera system), Digital Key 2 (phone-as-a-key), and Hyundai’s innovative Blind-Spot View Monitor (shows a feed of the blind spot in the gauge cluster when changing lanes).

One of the most important questions potential car owners have to ask themselves is, “How much car can I afford?” This inquiry is absolutely crucial as it will help determine which vehicles are within your budget and which are out of your financial reach. Here at Rob Green Hyundai, we understand how essential it is for you to know how this important question should be answered.

Firstly, it’s critical to understand that the total cost of car ownership extends beyond the selling price on the car’s window sticker. The cost of owning a car also involves other significant expenses like fuel, insurance, maintenance, and the annual registration costs. These costs tend to vary by model and even from one driver to another.

Generally, a popular rule of thumb in the automotive industry is the 20/4/10 rule. This rule essentially recommends that car buyers should make a down payment of at least 20%, finance a car for no more than 4 years (or 48 months), and spend a maximum of 10% of their gross income on their car expenses. The emphasis of this rule is to prevent you from spending more than you can handle and falling into a financial crisis due to your car purchase.

This 20/4/10 rule provides an excellent starting point, but everyone’s financial situation and priorities are different. Therefore, it’s important to consider your own financial circumstances and lifestyle needs to determine the best budget for you.

To calculate all these costs and arrive at an ideal budget for your car, Rob Green Hyundai has an online financial tool that you could consider using to avoid needless financial strains in the future. Feel free to use our payment calculator to determine what your potential monthly payments could be based on the selling price of the car, loan term, interest rate, and down payment. This tool can help you figure out how much car you can actually afford and helps keep your finances in check.

Once you have a clear understanding of what suits your financial scenario, you might consider proceeding to the next step which involves obtaining the financing for your chosen Hyundai vehicle. Whether you’ve got your heart set on a brand new model fresh off the showroom floor or a used vehicle that’s lightly worn, we’ve got a financing option for you.

To make it simple for you, we offer a platform where you can apply for financing right on our website. This tool is designed to make the financing process easier and faster, so you can drive off our lot in your dream Hyundai in no time.

Remember, asking “How much car can I afford?” is more than just determining what your monthly payments will be. It involves considering all the additional ongoing costs that come with owning a car. At Rob Green Hyundai, we take pride in going above and beyond to ensure you have all the resources you need to make an informed car buying decision.

How to Jump a Car

Oct 30, 2023

Need to know how jump a car? Following this guide to get you back on the road!

Step 1: Check Important Factors

Before you even begin to consider the idea of trying to jump a car, there are specific factors you need to take into account. Make sure to check whether it’s safe to try and jump a car under your specific circumstances. This includes ensuring that the battery isn’t leaking or damaged, and also making sure that you’re not standing in water or in an unsafe environment to conduct electricity.

Step 2: Ready The Cars

Next, both vehicles should be readied for the process. They should be positioned so the jumper cables can reach, but otherwise turned off completely. Park them nose to nose or side-by-side depending on your cable length. Also, double-check both cars have their parking brakes engaged for safety.

Step 3: Identify the Batteries and Terminals

Before starting the jumping process, every car driver needs to identify the negative and positive terminals on both car batteries – usually marked with a plus and minus sign respectively. Remember, connecting the wrong terminals can lead to severe damage so always double-check before proceeding.

Step 4: Connect the Jumper Cables

Firstly, connect one end of the red/yellow positive (+) jumper cable to the positive terminal of the battery in the dead car. The other end of the positive cable then goes to the good battery’s positive terminal in the functioning vehicle. Next, link one end of the black negative (-) jumper cable to the good battery’s negative terminal.

Step 5: Ground the Last Clamp

The grounding process involves fastening the other end of the black negative cable to a non-painted, metallic part of the dead car’s engine. This grounded spot could be a clean bolt or bracket that’s away from movable parts and the battery.

Step 6: Start the Jump-Start Process

At this point, you can start the functioning vehicle and let it idle for a few minutes. This running of the functional car may charge the dead battery enough to allow it to restart.

Step 7: Start the Dead Car

After waiting for a little while, start the car with the dead battery. If the car doesn’t start, wait for another few minutes and try again. If the car continues to fail to start, there may be a more significant issue at play rather than a dead battery.

Step 8: Safely Disconnecting the Cables

Once the dead car is running again, you can disconnect the jumper cables, starting with the black negative cables, followed by the positive. Remember to let your car run for a bit to ensure it doesn’t die once again immediately.

While jump-starting a car by yourself isn’t complicated, if you’re feeling unsure at any point during the process, having a professional handle it is normally the safer choice. If you run into issues while attempting to jump a car, please do not hesitate to contact us today or to schedule a service appointment for a comprehensive checkup. Notably, our knowledgeable mechanics at Rob Green Hyundai are equipped to help you safely resolve your vehicle start-up issue.
